Four prizes, including a $12,000 Cracker Jack card, will be given away by Professional Sports Authenticator and PSA/DNA Authentication Services in conjunction with the continuing growth of the popular PSA Set Registry and PSA/DNA Set Registry programs.

PSA logo“There are already more than 85,000 sets registered on our website, and we’ll be giving away special prizes as we eagerly approach the amazing milestone of 100,000 registered sets.  The top prize will be a Christy Mathewson 1915 Cracker Jack card graded PSA NM-MT 8,” said Joe Orlando, PSA President.

Orlando made the announcement during the PSA Set Registry luncheon at the National Sports Collectors Convention in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois on Thursday afternoon.

Cracker Jack Christy Mathewson PSA 8 1915“Beginning today, we are starting ‘The Race to 100,000.’  Everyone who registers a set with PSA or PSA/DNA will qualify for a series of increasingly valuable prize drawings that will be held when the number of registered sets reaches 87,500, then 90,000, 95,000 and finally at 100,000,” explained Orlando.

“Starting now, you’ll get one entry for each set you register.  It’s that simple.”

Each new set of PSA-certified trading cards, autographs, unopened packs, tickets or professional model bats registered on the PSA and PSA/DNA registries will qualify for an entry in the give-away.

The respective values of the four prize levels are approximately $500, $1,000, $2,500 and $12,000 for the Mathewson card.

“Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the first Cracker Jack cards.  ‘The Race to 100,000′ is a fun way to celebrate that anniversary and to thank collectors for building the PSA Set Registry community over the years and reaching 100,000 sets,” said Orlando.

Orlando told participants that a year after its launch in 2002, PSA had fewer than 500 sets in its Registry.

“Whether you are a veteran Set Registry member or are registering a set for the first time, you can be eligible to win.  If you register five new sets, you are entered five times.  The more sets you register, the more entries you get.   And, remember, you don’t need to have a complete set to register,” Orlando pointed out.

The PSA Set Registry was launched in 2001.

“This contest is a big thank you to all the people who have supported and continue to support PSA and PSA/DNA, and have propelled the continuing growth of the Set Registry program.  We hope everyone enjoys this,” said Orlando.
